Owner, Mechanical Designer and Project Manager
Steven Michelman is a Project Manager and Mechanical Designer with over twenty years of experience in entertainment design, engineering, project management and technical direction. Steven started the Las Vegas based Entertainment Project Services, LLC (EPS) in 2007 serving clients such as Cirque du Soleil, Royal Caribbean International, Blue Man Group, and Tait Towers. Steven has been project manager and mechanical designer for several high budget and high profile projects like the World of Color Nighttime Spectacular at Disney’s California Adventure and entertainment in the unique Two70 venue onboard Royal Caribbean’s Quantum Class. Steven holds an MFA in Technical Direction from Pennsylvania State University and a BFA in Scenic Design from Ithaca College. When Steven is away from EPS he serves as Vice President on the Executive Board of Families for Effective Autism Treatment a not-for-profit that helps families and children with autism receive the services and support they need. Steven has lived in Las Vegas for 20 years and has a wife and two children.
Director of Mechanical Design
Joe Champelli is Director of Mechanical Design for Entertainment Project Services, LLC, where he uses his 25 years of experience in machinery design, operations and project management to provide clients with comprehensive mechanical designs. Joe began his career in Las Vegas working on large special projects including the Pirate Battle at Treasure Island and the Cirque Du Soleil “O” showroom. As head of Automated Rigging for the Siegfried and Roy show, Joe developed his appreciation for robust machine design. For 11 years, Joe served as Chief Operations Officer and Mechanical Designer for Fisher Technical Services, Inc. During his tenure, FTSI grew from 2 to 100+ employees and completed major new construction projects such as the Le Rêve showroom and Front Feature at Wynn Resorts as well as the 600 foot long nightly flight of Tinkerbell at Disneyland. Prior to joining EPS, Joe spent five years as the General Manager and Lead Mechanical Designer for ZFX, Inc where he helped grow the business and refine operations. As Director of Mechanical Design for Entertainment Project Services, LLC, Joe is enjoying tackling new and unique challenges. Joe holds an MFA in Technical Production from Penn State University and a B.S. in Design from Illinois State University. In his free time Joe enjoys playing board games and throwing hatchets with his wife of 20 years and their three children.
